Landscape Collage-Rush Creek Elementary, MN

An all new session of KidzArt Classes starte today at Rush Creek Elementary School in Maple Grove, MN.  This session, Mixed Media Mania!, is all about different materials.  Today students created a landscape using different paper, gemstones, and glitter paint! 

First we talked about what a collage was (collage: is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole).  Which students could relate to having done before with pictures or a group project. 

Then we talked about different landscapes and what kind of landscape they wanted to create in their collage.  A few students chose to create a nice warm landscape (a nice thought in the middle of winter here in Minnesota!).

KidzArt 2013 Summer Preview! We will be offering the camps below at a number of locations throughout the Twin Cities. Registration for camps will begin mid February for some locations and continue throughout the Spring. June 17th-20th Preschool Zoofari 10am-12pm and Elementary Mixed Media 12:30-2:30pm July 29th-August 1st Elementary Cirque de Arts 10am-12pm and Preschool Princesses and Paint 12:30-2:30pm August 26th-29th Elementary Cirque de Arts 12:30m-2:30pm Summer Camp Themes: Cirque de Arts (Ages 6-12): Trapeze, high wire, dancing elephants, face painting, all are part of the thrill of the circus. Learn how to draw and create all these and more in this FUN art camp. Construct your own miniature Fun House Marble Game,experiment with clay and wire sculpture, paint on canvas and just have fun with your friends creating while using artist- quality materials. Get creative and messy with us this summer. Boys and girls alike will love this camp! Mixed Mediums to the MAX! (Ages 6-12): Join us for an exciting art adventure filled with creative art lessons that will enliven the imagination. You will experiment with fun new mediums both 2-D and 3-D. Learn a simple "Suminagashi" technique---floating inks on the surface of water to create beautiful patterns. Create a bookworm out of clay and decorate a pen that looks like a Wizards' wand. Work with fabric, paint, metal, foam and other fun materials to make art you are excited about! No previous experience necessary-we guide you in a relaxed supportive atmosphere. We use all high quality materials. Zoofari (Ages 4-6): Grab your jungle hats, we're going on a safari! check out all kinds of cool creatures and the places they live. Learn to draw some of your favorite animals. Try some bold patterns, colors and crazy pattern animals. This camp is packed with drawing, painting, and sculpture projects. Princesses and Paint (Ages 4-6, Girls only camp!): Mirror, mirror on the wall… this little princess will paint her own mirror! Your little princess will have fun creating works of art including drawing a jeweled crown and a flying fairy.  All princesses are welcome to dress up on Thursday for our magical art show where we will display our wonderful creations from the week.     Upcoming Winter/Spring Classes: The Studio at Rush Creek Saturday Morning Classes.
